Welcome and "why this blog?"

Hi and welcome to my blog!

I find myself facing a mountain.

I never saw it coming.

It seems huge and way beyond my capability to scale. In fact, it seems like it has taken me a long time to simply take a few small steps.

But, as I begin to challenge the base of this mountain, not knowing what lies ahead or how long before I get a rest, I am also reminded that my mountain can be turned into motivation.

I want to invite you to join me in this climb.

I will be honest as I move, whether forwards or backwards, scaling or stumbling, in hopes that as you face the mountains that will come your way in life (and they WILL come), that my journey can somehow help you find fuel to keep going.

My husband loved the verse, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

We are all called. God has a purpose for each of us. And our purpose isn't going to look like anyone else's.

All things work for GOOD for those who love God.

Hebrews 12 says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

In those 3 verses, it reminds us that not only are we to look at those who went before us - as examples of faith and perseverance - but we are also to look to Jesus Who endured the ultimate weight of the world, quite literally.

Join me.

Allow my pain to have purpose, my wounds to wield wisdom, and my scars to be stars.
