I NEVER KNEW YOU

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and in Your name drive out demons and in Your name perform many miracles?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!’

Matthew 7:13-23

"God will never send anybody to hell. If man goes to hell, he goes by his own free choice."

- Billy Graham

Being a Christian is a style of life. Not something you have done in the past that you hope will "carry you through". Salvation is a supernatural work - not a prayer - a change.

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

It is not your "5 minutes of fame in Jesus' name" that will put your name in the Lamb's book of life.

It is not your helping build a Church that will pave your way.

It is not your "salesman preaching" that will buy your way into heaven.

Your trendy talk that will not entertain your Savior.

You cannot live your life off of fruit from prior seasons and expect God to be satisfied with that.

Titus 3:5, "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit"

The Bible never teaches that a person can be a genuine Christian and live a life reflecting worldly standards. The Bible never teaches that you can ride through life, pacing in the same footprints you have already made, walking back and forth.

You should be bearing fruit every season. And you should be afraid if you are not showing the fruit of being a new creature AS YOU PROGRESS through your God-given life.

How are you going out?

What trail are you leaving as you exit?

Are you leaving devastation in your wake - or are you leaving restoration?

Are you mixing in with the world - or are you separate?

Your life, as a Christ follower, should be one so that you exit with greater promise than that which you entered with.

Do you look like the world? Do you live like the world?

Where is the evidence of your faith? Not works. Not the things you have done in the past. But how you are currently living and leaving this world.

If you have had an ENCOUNTER with the Lord Jesus - you should be PERMANENTLY CHANGED.

Age - young or old - does not excuse you from actively living daily to please the Lord and be a living testament to His name and purpose once you make a decision to accept the sacrifice of the Lord and once you are aware of the Word of God. If you have breath in your lungs and you have made a commitment to Christ, every day that you are given should be a day when you long to be a light that still burns for Him - guiding people - not setting a destructive fire - as you pass on through.

Does Jesus really know you?

Does Jesus know the REAL you?

Do you really know the Lord?

Where's your proof?

Because your proof is not in your yesterdays. Your proof is in your today.

I promise you that God sees all things.

Job 28:24, "For He views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens."
Proverbs 15:3, "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good."
Jeremiah 23:24, "Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?', declares the Lord."

Don't expect that you will be given a deathbed last chance to say, "Lord, I'm sorry." because you might not. I wouldn't want to live with the words, "I'm sorry, Lord." constantly on my lips but never said.

Your heart and life should constantly reflect your repentance and a daily dedication to transformation.

Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

It doesn't say "has done" the will of my Father. It says "does". Present tense.

May your walk reflect a walk that follows Christ.

May your footsteps fall in line with His.

And may you understand the necessity of CURRENT LIVING for God.

We've all heard "your past does not define you".

It's almost always being applied to a negative past not defining your enlightened future.

I would like to ask you to consider it another way:

Your good works of the past are not your free pass into heaven in the future, however long that may be.

Your current heart - your steady devotion to righteousness - your obedient commitment to a life worthy of the name "Christ follower" in the present - that is where your ticket to heaven resides.

Colossians 1:10, "so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."

Ephesians 4:1-3, "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

My prayer:

"Lord, help me to live a life worthy of Your name. Let me go out as a stronger light than when I came in. Let my light burn brighter than when it was first lit by Your Word and hope. Let righteousness fill my heart and overflow so that my decisions never be in question of aligning to Your Word and instructions. When others hurt me, let me allow You to handle vengeance. Let me show growth and not become stagnant. Let me be salt that need not be thrown out. I praise You, Lord, for all that You are constantly doing to teach me, even when the lessons are painful or hard. I trust You and I love You, Lord God. Amen."

I pray God's blessings and wisdom to you, and that my words written be taken and accepted as a person constantly learning and striving to deliver truth in the name of the Lord.
