God is bigger than the daily struggles that we face.

"Faith is not believing in my own unshakable belief. Faith is believing an unshakable God when everything in me trembles and quakes." — Beth Moore

While I believe that God will continue to help me, I have become more aware of what my struggles are, and, for now, I feel the battering of the storm. I feel the wind, I feel the waves, and more often than not, I feel as though I'm sinking rather than walking on water.

When I write, "God is bigger", I am stating something that might not be evident right away in my daily life, but is something that I know is absolute truth. God is bigger. My headspace doesn't change Who God is. My circumstances don't change Who God is.

When I write the things that I write, they are not from a blindly-optimistic corner of bliss.

I write that "God is bigger" as a reminder to myself and to anyone who reads this that God really is bigger. He is big enough to calm the storms - but the storms still exist.

He is big enough for us to cast our anxieties on - but He understands that we will first have those anxieties weighing us down, before we throw them onto His shoulders.

He is big enough to be strength when we are weak - but we have to realize our weaknesses before we understand our need for His strength.

He never fails you - but people will.

He IS faithful. He IS peace. He IS the King Who has the ability to slay every single giant that we encounter.

David said, "It is good that I be afflicted."

Because, in those moments when David was down, feeling low, abandoned, facing sickness, waiting on God's promise to be fulfilled - He found an amazing God, willing and able to do amazing things.

It is hard when we don't understand

what God is doing

or why God has allowed things to happen

or where God plans on ending the road

that we are walking on.

It is hard.

He never promised

that it would be easy.

But He DID promise

that He would

I have repeatedly been encouraged by understanding that someone has already walked a path like mine.

Maybe you're not ready to share during your journey but, when you are, God has a way of using the same threads woven into the intricate tapestry of your life for the tapestry of someone else.

"Someone, somewhere, is depending on you to do what God has called you to do." ~ Toby Mac

You don't have to be at total peace to bring calm to others. Sometimes, ministering to others can help you along the same path, with the same obstacles.

Faith isn't having all the answers.

It is trusting in spite of not having all the answers.

Hebrews 11:1, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith isn't denying the storm. It is getting into the boat, despite the stormy skies, because Jesus told you to.

And, we aren't always going to hold it all together.

Thankfully, that isn't our job.

The One Who created the seas, the wind, and skies - is the One Who calms, guides, instructs and saves.

Hebrews 11:3, "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."

Thank You, Lord, that I don't have to create my own water in the desert.

Thank You, Lord, that I don't have to stumble in the darkness with no light.

Thank You, Lord, that I don't face my giants alone or in my own strength.

Thank You, Lord, that I don't have to depend on my own understanding.

Thank You, Lord, that I don't have to save myself.

Because I would fail.

Don't look at the circumstances.

Look to the throne.

Look to the Lord.

May you find refreshment of your faith, in spite of, and in the midst of, affliction.

God is bigger.

He's got you.
