Every battle leaves scars of some kind along the way.

The destruction of a storm leaves rocks and rubble where you would normally walk.

Even a small valley can leave you winded from trying to climb up and out of it.

So, during these moments,

when you are sincerely weary

or beaten down

or even laying down and struggling to lift your head,

having little blessings dropped in front of you are like

morsels of manna from the Lord.

I want to share a couple BLESSINGS that I've experienced in this last week.

They each reminded me of how much God loves me.

I was coming off two long overnight shifts with a couple short days shifts in between (meaning I hadn't slept in a long time) and I was headed from Hutchinson to McPherson, then to Wichita for another Client before heading to sleep.

I stopped at a hole-in-the-wall gas station in McPherson for gas and coffee and to see if there were any bananas that didn't look like they have been ran over by a truck and then left in the sun for a couple days.

✅Got the gas.

☑️No luck on the bananas.

Next up --- ❤️☕❤️.

I brought in my QT coffee cup that I was now sipping day old cold coffee from and decided to refill it so I could get my coffee cheaper. (Almost all gas stations give you a cheaper price if you bring in a cup and use that.)

I filled my cup with the hot bitter black goodness and took it to the front counter and began looking for a dollar.

A lady who watched me bring in my mostly empty QT cup and fill it up with fresh coffee looked me over, smiled at me and said, "I got this." and paid for my coffee.

It was such a sweet blessing in a little package that morning to remind me how loved I am.

Something so small made me smile so big.

Another blessing I want to share about:

I and my teens were in need of a washer and dryer. We were also in need of a bed. (There's actually a list but those were the items I was focused on right then.)

Within 24 hours of the realization of the need, God set two different sources to offer us a used washer and dryer and two different sources to offer us a bedframe.

Two when we were in need of one.

I felt overwhelmed. And I still do.

Jehovah-Jireh = the God Who PROVIDES

I've got another blessing to share.

(I've got many blessings but if I tried to write them all in one post, I'm sure my phone couldn't handle it.)

I'm not supposed to share about any of my Clients so I'm going to be blank on the name, location, date and details.

But I have to tell you how God works.

My evening was off to a rough start.

I heard something that turned my stomach and hurt so so bad. Already going through a horrible, rough time. This was what I felt was a bit too much.

I was crying so hard that I could barely drive to work and even had to pull over before getting there.

I decided to try to find a replacement for my shift but knew I had to at least go in a bit while waiting to see if there was a replacement.

That's when God started working --- IMMEDIATELY.

I literally was still wiping tears off my face when I pulled up. My face was blotchy and my eyes and nose were red.

I thought, "They must think I look a mess."

As soon as I set my backpack down, I put some powder make-up on and lipstick, to try to look like I hadn't been crying.

Then, this is how God decided to work things:

I think there's a reason why they were having trouble finding someone to relieve me.

This was a house full of faith-filled, Bible-believing, prayer warriors.

From the moment I got here, I was embraced.

This non-verbal woman, who was my Client, kept wanting me to read her Devotionals to her from Jesus Calling, a Devotional book that I was quite familiar with.

And the family kept praising me, telling me they could sense such a sweet spirit in me - even when I felt the opposite - and they asked me repeatedly to come back permanently.

I know we Christians always say, "God is a gentleman - He won't force anything on you."

But, I assure you that there are times when He will gently but firmly nudge you through the entrance of a door that He is holding open, and, I believe, He places people like intricate chess pieces, to intervene when we say we "can't" anymore.

  • God forced me into usage when I told Him I was too broken and past what I could take.

  • He made me read His Word and promises out loud - when I didn't feel like it - because it's what my Client wanted me to do.

  • God asked and required me to pour out when I felt empty.

That was God - taking my hand and not letting go until I was willing and ready to move my foot a little further.

Free will =

*** I had the option to run away and simply not go in. To stand up my company and my shift and my Client.

*** I had the option to refuse to read her Devotional to her.

*** I had the option to decide to pour out distain instead of love.

*** I had the option to carry my burden into their house and drop it onto their floor - instead of allowing Jesus to gently lift it from my shoulders and replace it with opportunities to love.

We do have the choice.

But, as we face a precarious precipice too large to jump, and as we collapse from the weight of our burdens, there is Jesus saying, "Let me take that and show you how to build a bridge with what's inside of this weighted load you're carrying."

As I trust Him with each need - and, there are many right now - I do believe He will honor and protect us.

Because that's what He says He will do.

He has always been my Provider.

And He is yours too.

Praise Jehovah-Jireh.


"Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

I will praise the Lord all my life;

I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Do not put your trust in princes,

in human beings, who cannot save.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;

on that very day their plans come to nothing.

He upholds the cause of the oppressed

and gives food to the hungry.

the Lord loves the righteous.

The Lord watches over the foreigner

and sustains the fatherless and the widow,

but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord reigns forever,

your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the Lord."

MATTHEW 6:25-33

"Therefore I tell you,

do not worry about your life,

what you will eat or drink;

or about your body, what you will wear.

Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not much more valuable than they?

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you - you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’

or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

For the pagans run after all these things,

and Your Heavenly Father knows that you need them.

But seek first HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness,

and all these things will be given to you as well."


"I know what it is to be in need,

and I know what it is to have plenty.

I have learned the secret of being content

in any and every situation,

whether well fed or hungry,

whether living in plenty or in want.

I can do all this through HIM Who gives me strength.

Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles."

1 SAMUEL 2:7-9

"The Lord makes poor and makes rich;

He brings low and He exalts.

He raises up the poor from the dust;

He lifts the needy from the ash heap

to make them sit with princes

and inherit a seat of honor.

For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's,

and on them He has set the world.

He will guard the feet of His faithful ones,

but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness,

for not by might shall a man prevail."
